Frank Ward, guitarist, vocalist, and the fearless leader of the Nucklebusters, is a naturally shy and retiring person (for proof, check out the history of the band in his own words), but he did agree to answer a few questions for the enlightenment of Nuckleheads everywhere.
If you could jam with any person, live or dead, who would you choose? Why? Muddy Waters; he's the ultimate bandleader.
What was your most embarrassing on-stage moment?
I blew a guitar amp fuse at the Riverwalk Blues Fest in front of 5000 people. Johnny Charles plugs me into his amp, gets a fuse, and saves the day.
What's in your tape/cd player right now?
Spin Doctors, Robben Ford, Ronnie Earl, Eddy Clearwater and Luther Tucker.
What artist or band would you say was the most influential in your development as a musician?
Ronnie Earl. He combined the best guitarists to make his style (Luther Tucker, T-Bone Walker, Freddy King, Johnny "Guitar" Watson, etc).
What non-musical talents would most people be surprised to discover you have?
I'm the owner of A.M.F. Tire Inc (in Boca Raton). I'm one of the few people in the world who does on the car balancing with no equipment assistance. I'm pretty good at BBQ, steak and ribs especially. I'm also a good golfer.
